Live with Passion… Welcome to my Playground… “Soul Recess”

…………………………………………………………………………………..
Welcome to Cupofjoewithjen… “Recess for your Soul” ….
A Place to unleash the child within and live all out…

Be the Change You Wish to See in the World... Gandhi

My vision is for you to remember "Who" you are and "What" you're passionate about. We tend to get caught up in the routine tasks of everyday life and we forget "Who" we truly are... and stop living life to the fullest. We start feeling overwhelmed...we start judging ourselves and those around us; there is hope.
Take a "Soul Recess" daily...you will gain Perspective and Power. God made us each unique and special, and wants us to "Shine" in our Brilliance.
True Happiness comes from within, not others.....
Enjoy my blog, I hope it inspires you......
I also hope you take time for yourself and time to connect with your family and friends. There is "Power" in connecting with others! We can learn a great deal from each other and together we CAN make a Difference, one person at a time.
I just happen to enjoy connecting with others over a Delicious Cup of Joe.... jeN

Love + Acceptance = Happiness

I Love connecting with my children and family. Capturing those special moments on video is "priceless".... Just think, when your children are older and grown, they can reminisce and "view" those memories, instead of just "hearing" about them----

Lost Generation

I think words are more powerful than actions– Do your words hurt, or heal? Think about it and watch the video below—

Lastly, watch the video below "Anyway". Once again words are powerful and can change the world. I want to make a difference, do you?---- Jen :)

Martina McBride- “ANYWAY”

I have found as I look back on my life, growing up as a child, college, marriage, and motherhood, I wouldn’t change a thing. Don’t get me wrong- My life is definitely not perfect and I’ve been through hardships, trials, and sadness. What I have discovered is- My life’s Journey makes up Who I Am, What I’ve become, and What I Aspire to be. I relish in the craziness of my life and embrace it; I also relish the quiet times alone with only my thoughts. I enjoy watching and connecting with people. This video is inspirational and sums up perfectly how I try to live my life– Enjoy!! I’m a dreamer——
Are you???

Camryn, my oldest daughter, flew down later during our vacation with my good friend and hot babysitter, Aaron. Aaron and I went running together several mornings and afternoons during her stay with us and on those runs, we jogged right by the infamous monkeys. She and I tried to take some video of them, but hey weren’t cooperating too much. And on this particular day neither were the crazy drivers of St. Kitts.

The roads in St. Kitts are so narrow, and the divers speed down them like crazy people. When we stopped to take some monkey footage, the cars whipped by us and I was terrified that we were going to get hit. I freaked out a little bit at one point, but how would you react!?

Aaron and I spent days trying to get some good video of the monkeys, but they never seemed to be close enough or low enough for us to get any. On the last day of Aaron’s stay at the beach with us, we were finally able to capture some of them on camera. We were so close to them and they weren’t even afraid! Maybe I can get over my “fear” of squirrels attacking me while I run as well–we’ll see!

There’s a monkey on my leg!!

While my family and I were vacationing in St. Kitts at a friend’s home, I spent quite a bit of time going on runs around the island in preparation for an upcoming marathon. It was on one of my runs that I discovered the wild monkeys that hang out by the side of the road. Every time I ran past, all I could think about was “what would I do if a monkey jumped on me?!”

I stopped in a local coffee shop after one of my runs and met a few women from St. Kitts. We shared some stories and got to talking about the monkeys that I had just run by. One of ladies, Gail, mentioned to me that she had a frightening run-in with one of those monkeys. Hear Gail’s story about her monkey experience below.

What would you do if you were just walking along the side of the road and a monkey just jumped on your leg to say “hello”!?

What would you do?

I’m a big believer in telling someone if they have something on their face– or something stuck in their teeth. My friends always say that it’s too embarrassing to say something, but I think it’s much more embarrassing for that poor person to walk around for hours with a chunk of pepper between their teeth.

What if you saw someone with something on their face or stuck in their teeth? Would you say anything, or would you pretend not to notice?

I decided that I’d conduct a little experiment to see how someone would react. Watch “Part 1″ in this two part experiment…

Let’s see what actually happened! Check out “Part 2″ …

Can you believe it!?! I was truly shocked and “knew” she would say something–but she didn’t. Why do people get embarrassed so easily? I can honestly say, I don’t. I think that’s one reason I’m drawn to children. Children are real, honest, and funny. Come on sista’s! Let’s help our girlfriends out!! This was so mind-boggling to me, I might have to continue and have a little experiment and run my own scientific study. What do you think??

Kids will be kids…

How do children make you feel? Does your heart soar at their innocence, happiness and creativity, or does their unbridled energy stress you out and make you cringe?

Recently, my family and I vacationed in St. Kitts. While we were spending a relaxing afternoon on the beach, we cam across a local mother and her three children. I decided that it would be a cool idea to interview the kids and see what they think of their life in paradise. They were super excited to be on camera! They each had huge smiles on their faces, until the little one bit her brothers finger…

Fact of the matter is, regardless of cultural differences, kids will be kids… and brothers and sisters will be brothers and sisters… I like to call this video- “Charlie bit my finger-part 2″ one of the funniest videos I’ve ever seen! Watch it again and notice the little boys expression while I am talking– “Priceless and Precious” :-)

Do you match your shoes??

My six year old daughter is a fashion icon! She will probably grow up and become a designer :) Recently, we were walking out the door and I asked her
why she had two shoes on. ”Because I like them both – is that ok?” was her
response. ” Sure” was mine.

Question … Do you let your children wear what they want? Why?

Question!??

Would you let your 12 year old daughter put a blue streak in her hair?
Would you help her do it!?? Why or why not??
I realized, letting children express themselves is an important step
in growing and figuring out who they are. Do you help this process
along OR do you hinder it? Think about it ——
